Description:

This Star Wars Rebels CR90 Corvette "Liberator” Blockade Runner is an impressive 38 inches in length in 1:155 scale. It is actually 1:2 studio scale size of the original filming model that was used in 1977’s Star Wars. The main parts for this model were created by famed model maker Chris Kelley, and the model replica itself was built, painted, and weathered by well-known artist Ray Lawson II. This beautiful piece was created as a BLUE version of the Blockade Runner design we all love. Ray named it the “Blue Betty'' being that the only blue version we saw of this CR90 design at the time of this build's completion was the Tantive IV as it was seen at the end of the 2005 film, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith As the Star Wars timeline goes, that movie took place 18 years before we would see this design as the famed Blockade Runner (Tantive IV) we viewed in 1977’s STAR WARS. As seen in the last season one episode of Star Wars Rebels (aired on March 2, 2015), there was a CR90 Corvette with the name “Liberator”! Being that it was created after this build was completed, we adopted the name of the CR90 in that episode to be this CR90 Corvette’s name. Ray made this piece beautiful with his build excellence, bringing it to life with amazing weathering patterns, and rust. The side guns were included with the parts that Chris Kelley created, just in case we wanted to make it the CR90 Corvette we viewed in Return of the Jedi’s space battle sequence. Using LED’s, the model is well-lit with full engine lighting that is nice and bright now that it has been changed to AC/DC power by Dan Grumeretz. The running lights give it great scale as does the fully lit Bridge. The crew, as tiny as they are, can be viewed through the Bridge’s front port window. The upper spine white painted windows are also lit. The top and bottom Main Turrets, as well as the four spine Laser Turrets, the Dish Antenna, and the bottom thruster part (that comes with the model as that is where the stand enters the model for display), are all held on with powerful Earth Magnets, making them movable and removable for transport if needed. The 5 Escape pods are built into the model, with the sixth escape pod port now empty, as if one has been used. This piece displays beautifully and attracts much attention from everyone who views it. This piece is rare, quite amazing, and highly valuable for any Collection. Keywords: Collectible; Ref: BD1831
